Pachislot glossary (for beginners)
Term Meaning/Explanation Reel The three vertical lines that spin. The place where you line up the pictures. The technique of stopping the picture you are aiming for by yourself. Some machines are easy for beginners to use once they get used to it. Bonus hit. There are “BIG” and “REG (regular)”. BIG BONUS A bonus with a large number of balls (e.g. about 200). REG BONUS A bonus with a small number of balls (e.g. about 100). AT A mode to acquire balls by hitting them according to the “push order navigation”. Many machines increase automatically. ART A type of AT, characterized by replay time. Slightly complicated and for intermediate players. Normal type A simple machine that increases balls only with bonuses (e.g. Juggler, Hana Hana, etc.). AT Machines/ModelsFlashy machines that use AT as the main focus to increase the number of balls (e.g. Basilisk, Bancho, etc.). SettingAn internal value for how likely it is to get balls out. 1 is a low setting, 6 is a high setting. It can’t be seen from the outside. CeilingA rescue function that wins if you get stuck on a set number of games (mainly found in AT machines). Lever onOperation to start play. Hitting the lever to spin the reels. BETOperation to bet medals. Usually 3 coins are bet per game. Payout rate. The higher it is, the easier it is to win (the higher the setting, the higher the payout). Payout (payout sound)When you win and medals are released. There is a jingling sound. Small RolesReplays, bells, watermelons, etc. are results that are not wins but give you medals. EffectsAn animation or character movement that appears on the LCD. Indicates the probability of a bonus. CZ (Chance Zone)A premonition mode that makes it easier to enter a bonus or AT. Mainly found in AT machines. NavigationA guide on the screen that tells you the “order to press” (displayed during AT). A technique to maximize the number of balls by pressing specific buttons during the number adjustment bonus.
